What You Need to Know About NISF

Do I Need to Be Affiliated with a Yacht Club or be a Yacht Club Member to Sign up?

No! You do not need to be a yacht club member to sign up.  This series is open to all and we welcome all competitors. 

How Do I Sign Up for Racing?

Skippers should sign up for racing and pay the fee at Yachtscoring.com. Don't forget to list your crew and their email address so they can be notified about results and post-racing events.

Is There One Starting Line?

Races are started in two separate starting areas so be sure to check which starting area we are using for the individual race.

What Happens After the Regatta? Is There an Opportunity to Connect with Other Sailors?

Following the racing, there is usually a cookout or socializing event.  Please check the race schedule for the time and location.

"You Scratched My Anchor!" What about Protests?

From time-to-time this happens. Please read the NOR before each regatta and follow the instructions there.

Are There Awards?

At the end of the sailing season, there is an awards party. It's a great way to celebrate our achievements on the water and start planning for next season.

How Can I Get Involved?

Throughout the season there are numerous ways to get involved. Every sailor is expected to volunteer at least once. Volunteering can be as simple as bringing a favorite hors d'oeuvres to a post-sailing event, to picking up the pizza tab at the local, to helping clean up, to volunteering on Race Committee. A Sign-up link will be shared before each event.
