The Norwalk Islands Sailing Fleet is Connecticut area clubs and local sailors dedicated to running a series of races located near the Norwalk Islands.
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
- Any boat having a valid PHRF rating certificate on file with the race committee shall be eligible to participate.
- Our 2008 program includes twelve (12) races; one (2) regular day race and ten (10) special invitational trophy races, to include one (1) overnight race, and one (1) women's cup race.
- The Connecticut Shore Series, a combined series of four races, will again continue with the Minuteman Yacht Club Fleet, Norwalk Yacht Club Fleet and the Noroton Yacht Club Fleet joining us. These four (4) races will combine the four fleets in races, which may also be scored separately for each club's series. Two (2) race sailed on the NISF courses, one (1) races sailed on NYC courses and one (1) race sailed on the Noroton YC courses. For NYC and Noroton YC races, their rules, start line, and instructions will govern; for NISF races, NISF rules, start line and instructions will govern.
- Our program includes Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker Divisions with a minimum of two (2) starts. When we combine with the Noroton YC and Norwalk Yacht Clubs, additional starts may be needed.
- The end of season awards and cocktail party for the combined series will be held at the Norwalk Yacht Club on Saturday, October 17th, 2009 1700hrs.
- The end of season awards and cocktail party for the NISF series will be held on Sunday, November 8th, 2009, 1500hrs. at The Shore and Country Club.
